**I have availability to work with fully licensed providers who are seeking the AAMFT Approved Supervisor and/or the Oregon Approved Supervisor designations at this time.**
Supervision plays a major role in mental health treatment, as it allows providers to learn best practices in order to provide top quality services to clients. I am very passionate about supporting both new therapists and seasoned providers.
I currently maintain the designation of being an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor. This process involved a 30-hour in person supervision course, over 180 hours of supervising trainees, and over 36 hours of supervision mentoring. To learn more about what this means, please visit the AAMFT website here. I have also hold the designation of Approved LPC and LMFT Supervisor by The Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. To learn more about what this means, please visit the OBLPCT website here.
I am able to provide supervision for individuals seeking the following:
LMHC licensure in Washington
LPC licensure in Oregon
LMFT licensure in Oregon
AAMFT Approved Supervisor Designation
Oregon Approved Supervisor
I meet all requirements set forth by WAC 246-809-234 and WAC 246-809-210, and OAR 833-130-0050 and OAR 833-050-0081. Of note, although I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Washington state, I am not able to provide the required 100 hours of supervision from an LMFT for registered marriage and family therapist associates (LMFT-A) until October 2025.
Supervision may take place through a combination of the following methods: 1) face-to-face, 2) HIPAA-compliant online platforms, or 3) telephone. Supervision will include case consultation, record keeping, self-of-the-therapist issues, an update on previously discussed clients, concerns or questions regarding ethics or high-risk, high-need clients, and needs related to professional development. Supervision is not a replacement for personal therapy sessions. As a supervisor I maintain a combination of four roles: teacher, coach, mentor, and administrator.
For more detailed information regarding my approach to supervision, please view my Philosophy of Supervision paper.
